Staring at the walls In this place you don’t pay for the view No place in time No place is mine Some of the paper has come off The screen makes for a window too No place in time No place is mine Violence and guns Don’t answer the door Out on the street The unholiest war The lights gave out I’ll wire the next installment soon No place is mine No place in time Out on the street They ransacked a store Billboards as vistas The ever closed door Remarkable progress That’s what I’m told And on it goes I guess it shows I am let go, why do you ask Live alone and you don’t answer I am let go, no need to talk Live alone and you don’t answer I am let go, what’s there to ask Live alone and you don’t answer I am let go, no need to ask Live alone and you don’t answer I’m let go, why do you ask? Let it go, there ain’t no answer Gotta let go, a burdensome task Fed up by it all Billboards as vistas

My Ambition 04:00
My ambition Holding all the cards Acquiring all the necessary parts My ambition Connecting all the dots Unravel threads of loyalty and loss So I got a head start The pillars on which we stand So it took some guidance Everybody needs a hand Roll with the big boys It is who you are Now the grind is paying off No room to rise but up You’re going it alone Making use of all you own Don’t ask yourself Towards what goal? No room to rise but up Buy the future Buy the future Bye future Buy the future Bye Bye

With bags full of cash, nothing to lose This new fad I got into My eyes on the prize Pave the way for the golden lies The influencer, ads in disguise What a bullshit enterprise So I rob myself at a quarter to nine It’s all the rage, why don’t you buy Our drug of choice, in endless supply? It is a rollercoaster ride The perfect place to hide I’m pretty impressed by your telephone I’m pretty impressed by my telephone I’m pretty impressed, I’m pretty impressed, I’m so impressed How bright our minds, it’s a science you know To sell the stuff you don’t need for the house you can’t afford Serve the dark lord In our down pay paradise The perfect place to hide Day time televised Profoundly satisfied Until the money’s tight The perfect place The perfect place to hide
4.
Don’t know what we’re going for We will mess around, the rest is unsure There’s no reason to it all ‘Cause we know we can, it means we’ll have to And we’re glorious Whenever we pull through It looks like we’ve won, for all we know It looks like we’ve won Some may push against the tide But they’re just passengers, along for the ride I don’t dare to hope for more What can we do that’s credible? I don’t aspire anymore And we’re glorious Whenever we pull through It looks like we’ve won for all we know When the deed is done It’s the story that we grow We’re buried and gone before you know No, we’re decent people No, half decent people And we’re glorious Whenever we pull through It looks like we’ve won for all we know We’re decent people Half decent people

Monday morning And I wake to the beep Don’t care for breakfast But the coffee can't keep Modern commuting Our jugular vein Ever forward we’re moving Take a seat on the train By cost reduction We’ll raise revenue Outsource production I don’t care where to Incentivize impact Evolve and exploit It’s all fair game As long as we grow Tuesday morning And I wake from my sleep Don’t care for breakfast But the coffee can’t keep Modern commuting Ever forward we’re moving For our growing pollution It’s a win-win solution It’s no longer an option It’s a manifest gain Return on investment Take a seat on the train It’s a win-win solution No matter the cost It’s all fair game One you’ve already lost Wednesday morning And the coffee can’t keep by offshoring labour we’re keeping it cheap User centric sustainable growth It’s a seamless transition For expansionist goals Forge and foster Generate growth Embrace the vision Through a corporate scope Outrun competition Through brand recognition It’s all fair game Don’t consider the cost Thursday morning Friday morning It’s a win-win solution It’s all fair game Take a seat on the train Embrace the vision Embrace the vision No matter the cost No matter the cost No matter the cost Embrace the vision No matter the cost

Alone, you climb the mountain Pull the vivid from the grey You wear it all around you It’s the daily price you pay When nothing stays the same Nothing stays the same You were used to being on top Raised a home on single pay But nowadays you feel you’re barely getting by It seems no one can explain Why nothing stays the same Nothing stays the same Unless you stay the same No I’m not gonna lie These things are bigger than your life I’m not gonna lie There’s no end to the daily strife I’m not gonna lie These things are bigger than your life A magnificent lie And we strain ourselves to reach the sky We strain ourselves Nothing stays the same Unless you stay the same
7.
Sway with flair Look as if you really care The game you play How you always seem to find a way A friendly smile A friendly face The lightest touch invaluable And you want more What’s your cause? Without one you’re just here for the applause From grace, you fall There comes a time, the final curtain call A friendly smile A friendly face Your Midas touch invaluable That you adore And you want more You forgot It’s not enough Would you die of shame? This hole, this hole you dug yourself And you want more And even more And even You let yourself go We heard enough We had enough You went too far You let yourself go
8.
Elections 03:41
Why don't you learn? Silly boy Foolish boy Do the devil’s work Don’t be absurd It’s not a lie To justify Words are only words I only serve to please you Common truth can’t die I Promise I won't compromise Won’t turn a blind eye Don’t you worry ‘bout projections You know the time is right Exorcize these shadows from your mind I can have no apprehensions Alone I dare to cry Alone I dare to cry I only serve to heed you Common truth can’t die At least I say what we all think I won’t turn a blind eye Common truth won’t die Pay no heed to misconceptions We can wait on those reflections There’s no time for your objections We are rigging these elections
9.
Go On 03:01
You know you work around the clock Don’t even know just what it’s for It’s what you need, it is a job Go on, go on, go on You are an ass with a degree You’re even working in your sleep You’re none the richer when you wake Go on, go on, go on Go on Another hour, another lost Give me a meaning or a cause Some kind of abstract thing to cling to That speaks straight to the heart Go on
10.
My Truth 02:51 video
You can’t spare a thought for anyone “My Truth, my own truth And nothing but my truth” You’re free, independent, liberal The facts you choose are trivial Go on and deceive yourself So you won’t have to change Say they went behind your back And rob us all of the gains You’re wrong Shroud your selfish petty needs In a fight for the common cause You keep whining like a child There’s nothing that could please you You’re wrong
11.
What we held close We tore it all to pieces The end, oh the end We take our final steps, the staircase spirals down ever down And even though Time will grind our shells to pieces The end, oh the end I feel that I still have to reach for something I’m meant to do Our kingdom came And fell without a sound The end, oh the end In our bloom we set the wheels in motion long before the reins were found We’re left to write An ode; a beautiful surrender To the end, oh the end At least we’ll die in splendor, when we’ll cross the great divide We’ll wave white flags Backed by hollow pledges The end of the end The die was cast, the outcome rigged by those who came before us We’ll drink and laugh We’ll drown, we’ll drown ourselves in pleasure Pretend ‘till the end We drained and colonized the future, now there’s nowhere left to go Now the love is gone It slipped away from us Watch and go

about

"Statues & Ornaments" shows a shift in direction for Silent Runners. Featuring a heavier emphasis on post-punk influences and more drum driven songs, without compromising the iconic mix of synths, guitars and deep vocals the band became known for.
The album title refers to the ideas and ideologies we as a society put on a pedestal. The same ones that also lead us to rising inequality, climate crisis and mass extinction. It speaks of our inability to explore hopeful new alternatives, while revering the nostalgic embrace of the old ways.

"Statues & Ornaments" features eleven new tracks. Each purchase of the album includes two exclusive bonus tracks, for a total of thirteen new Silent Runners songs. The CD will include all tracks, while full digital downloads are available for vinyl and digital buyers.

"Statues & Ornaments" was recorded in Volver Studio (NL), mixed by Ben Greenberg (USA - Black Marble, Second Still, Soft Kill, et al.) and mastered by Pete Maher (UK - U2, The Killers, Maximo Park, et al.).
